Bicknoller Village Hall Car Park

Bicknoller to Halsway Post, Higher Hare Knap and Quantock Combes.

A fairly strenuous walk of 12.6 km (8 miles). We start gently by heading along lanes and paths from Bicknoller Village Hall Car Park, past Thorncombe House and Halsway Manor, before heading up Halsway Combe to Halsway Post. We then head up to the Trig point at Black Hill, before heading North along the ridge towards Higher Hare Knap. We then drop down into Sommerton Combe, and back up Slaughterhouse Combe to Black Ball Hill. We will then return to Bicknoller down Bicknoller Combe. If time permits we may return via Trendle Ring Settlement, an Iron Age site on the slope of Bicknoller Hill.

This walk includes some fairly steep ascents & descents on rocky paths so sturdy footwear is essential, along with clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.  The walk should take approximately 4 hours, so bring water and  refreshments as required.
