Educational resources

The Quantock Hills Team have undertaken a number of projects to develop a wealth of educational resources that will increase the knowledge of the Quantock Hills special qualities.  

 

Below are a number of  education packs full of ideas, resources, information and links to help schools make the most of the Quantock Hills National Landscape, these are available in hard copy from the office and also downloadable below.  Please note that these were developed back in 2005 so may not be in line with the current curriculum.  If you would like more information about educational resources or are thinking of visiting the Quantock Hills as part of an educational visit please contact quantockhills@somerset.gov.uk or phone 01823 451884. 

This teacher’s pack centres on Dowsborough Hill Fort on Quantock Common. It covers the history and geography curriculums at KS3 and upper KS2.

Travel back in time with this History themed pack which explores the parish of East Quantoxhead (please note due to the size of the pack it comes in two parts).

Explore the coast at Kilve in this teachers pack with a Geography and Science theme (KS1 – 2).

This pack provides potential topics and activities for KS2 Geography “study an environmental issue, caused by change in environment, and attempts to manage the environment sustainably”.

Exploring the very top of the Quantock Hills, this pack provides activities for Geography and Art at KS2.

Exploring the legend of the Gurt Vurm, this pack provides creative activities that cross curriculums.
