Fyne Court

Our monthly Wellbeing Wanders offer the chance to enjoy a gentle stroll with a focus on a particular nature theme each time. In small groups of up to 10 participants our intention is to dive deeper into the wonder of nature around us, share our knowledge and give a boost to our health and wellbeing.

About the event

Its that time of year again! For the October Wellbeing Wander we will be immersing ourselves in the wonder of mushrooms and fungi. As the season cools, the damp woodland floor offers perfect conditions for all kinds of possible magical appearances - perhaps jewel coloured waxcaps, swathes of honey fungus, turkey tail, parasols, shaggy ink caps or puffballs…the possibilities are many!

Our session will offer poetry and folklore, as well as an invitation to share our combined knowledge of what we may find along our way. We will explore how immersing ourselves, admiring and connecting with nature may enhance our understanding of the ‘other than human’ world and bring meaning to our own lives.

Our Wellbeing Wanders have a mindfulness approach woven in. There will be opportunities for each of us to share something of our own knowledge and the meaning the topic has for us in pairs, small groups or all together (but there is never any pressure or expectation to join in these discussions). There may also be invitations to spend some time alone to reflect.

Fyne Court is the perfect place to explore trees at this time of year. We anticipate a lovely walk around the gardens, with a chance to sit and rest and take in the beauty along the way. There will also be the opportunity to visit the courtyard café to purchase refreshments afterwards.
