About the event

Join Joanna for a wander through the beauty of Quantock meadows, exploring what we may find along the way – yellow rattle, poppies, clover, buttercups and hopefully more.

We have probably all noticed and heard of the decline of the wildflowers in recent years, but this walk will be a chance to notice, appreciate and celebrate what is here today.  As well as examining what we find and its connection with wildlife, this walk will offer a chance to slow down and connect with a gentle pace. We will explore pathways to nature connection 5 ways to be closer to nature - May - University of Derby including beauty and meaning.

Expect more of a wander than a hike with plenty of time to enjoy the views and connect with what we find. Whilst there are some fairly steep hills, the pace of the walk is designed to make it accessible.

The walk will begin with a simple mindful grounding, and a chance to introduce ourselves and observe what we are experiencing in nature.

Please come prepared for an English summer day, with appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, and be aware the ground is uneven. Please bring a walking pole/stick if you wish. Long trousers tucked into socks are recommended to help protect from insect bites, especially ticks. Please bring something to sit on, water/drink and a snack if you would like one.

Maximum number in group – 10
