Fyne Court

Our monthly Wellbeing Wanders offer the chance to enjoy a gentle stroll with a focus on a particular nature theme each time. In small groups of up to 10 our intention is to dive deeper into the wonder of nature around us, share our knowledge and give a boost to our health and wellbeing.

Fyne Court, Broomfield, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 2EH

About the event

For our August wander, we invite you to join Joanna Hicks and Quantock Hills National Landscape Manager, Iain Porter for an exploration of two of our incredibly special winged insects – bees and butterflies.

Our session will include poetry and folklore as well as some fascinating bee and butterfly facts. Our route through the gardens will to an extent be led by which insects we find on the day, as we follow and explore their favourite habitats and the flowers they love.

Our Wellbeing Wanders have a mindfulness approach woven in. There will be opportunities for each of us to share something of our own knowledge and the meaning the topic has for us in pairs, small groups or all together (but there is never any pressure or expectation to join in these discussions). There may also be invitations to spend some time alone to reflect.

Fyne Court is the perfect place to explore bees and butterflies, with the gardens in full summer bloom. We anticipate a lovely walk around the gardens, with a chance to sit and rest and take in the beauty along the way. There will also be the opportunity to visit the courtyard café to purchase refreshments afterwards.

Please come equipped for all that an English summer day can bring!  Sturdy footwear and rain coat/sun hat/sunscreen are advised.  Please also being a drink, plus a snack if you wish.  Please also see https://www.quantockhills.com/attending-an-event for more useful tips.
