Quantocks - Intro to temperate rainforest for walk group leaders (CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS)
Time & Location
About the event
The south west is home to the most fabulous but little-known type of woodland called temperate rainforest. As walking group leaders, you help people to explore new places and learn more about them. This training will help you to recognise temperate rainforest and give you confidence to talk to people on your walks about it and about some of the plants which make them particularly special.
What will the session cover:
- the features of temperate rainforest habitat so that you can feel confident about talking to other people about its special nature
- basic fern and lichen identification skills and how to use ID guides so you can confidently identify a handful of species
- plant related ‘stories’ that you can share with people on your walks
This training is free thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It is part of the Building Resilience in South West Woodlands Project. For more information or to book a place please visit:
