Quantock Volcano Walk

Can you conquer the Quantock Volcano Walk?  We're going up and over, and then back up and over, on a geological journey!

A circular walk from Hawkridge Reservoir via Plainsfield, Keeper’s Combe, Quantock Farm, Triscombe, Bagborough Hill, Lydeard Hill, Durborough and Aisholt. The walk includes a close encounter with Devonian period volcanism in the form of the Cockercombe Tuff outcrop both underfoot and in buildings around Plainsfield. The walk itself is a bit volcanic with long climbs and explosive bursts of energy!

The walk will be approximately 17.7km (11 miles) on forest tracks with some steep ascents so please remember to wear appropriate footwear for walking off road,  dress comfortably for the weather on the day and remember to bring your own refreshments, especially a drink if its warm.

Participants are responsible for wearing suitable footwear & clothing for the environment. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and the suitability of any equipment used during the walk.

Any medical conditions that may affect the participants during the walk should be notified to the walk leader prior to the start of the walk.

This event is FREE of charge to attend but booking is essential via our website as places are limited.
