This challenging and strenuous walk of some 17 kilometres (10 miles) will go through fields and woodlands, as well as open hilltop and along some lanes, where traffic will be expected. Â This route will be altered to avoid any forestry or agricultural operations that may be taking place. The route includes descending and climbing some steep pathways and lanes, as well as a couple of tricky road junctions, where care will be needed. Â
Some of the pathways will be very muddy, and some will be stony, so sturdy and waterproof footwear will be necessary, as well as clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, which could be cold and wet. While most of the tracks go through gates, there are five stiles en route.Â
The walk could take about six hours so you should bring a packed lunch and liquid refreshment with you.
The walk leaders will be John Crabtree and Don Hobson.Â
