The nightjar are secretive birds with a distinctive churring call are a wonderful sight to see. Hopefully on this guided walk you will be able to see and hear the 'goatsucker' as they are sometimes referred to. The best time to see them is April/July.
The glow-worm is not actually a worm, but a beetle. Males look like typical beetles, but the nightly glow of a female is unmistakeable, lighting up to attract a mate in the darkness of their grassland habitats. The best time to see them is June/July.
Don't forget sturdy Footwear, warm clothing appropriate for the weather conditions on the evening, a torch and any refreshments you may require.
