Looking for Lide - Photo Walk

Lydeard in Lide! Look for signs of Lide from Lydeard Hill as we seek out spring.

This Photo Walk is part of the Lide & Seek events programme and although an intermediate level distance it still has some big elevation, so get ready for a climb into the month ahead! We will start at Lydeard Hill car park and drop down to West Bagborough before ascending again on this circular route.

What to bring: Walking boots recommended (our walks can sometimes be wet and muddy with mixed terrain. This walk is rated as an intermediate route (difficulty rating) on our walk scale.

Water (recommended 1 litre) and bring packed lunch/snacks/refreshments.

Terrain:

A 6km (4 miles) walk across varied terrain.

Safety:

Participants are responsible for wearing suitable footwear & clothing for the environment. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and the suitability of any equipment used during the walk.

Any medical conditions that may affect the participants during the walk should be notified to the walk leader/facilitator prior to the start of the walk.

On our Quantock Hills Photo Walks it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a fancy camera or technical expertise, it’s about appreciating your surroundings and finding somewhere in nature that you can immerse yourself. The camera is a fantastic tool to encourage you to slow down and focus your attention, it’s a mindful exercise and can be a very relaxing process. If you don’t have a camera, don’t worry – all are welcome to enjoy the walk in their own way. This is about finding picturesque locations, and not everything needs to be photographed to be appreciated.

We’ll all walk with each other at a relaxed pace, slowing down and observing our surroundings.

Transport:

If you need transport, and otherwise couldn’t attend, for yourself or several in your group, then we may be able to arrange collection from a local hub.

Dogs:

Dogs are welcome, however, please notify us if you plan on bringing a dog. We ask that where there are livestock grazing, and fields, dogs must be on leads. Please observe the Countryside Code, and please respect other dog owners and fellow walkers. We cannot guarantee that every stile is suitable for dogs.
