Head for the Combes

Love walking the Quantock Hills? Spend Valentine's Day with a special one-of-a-kind route.

Love makes the world go round, join us on this circular walk exploring some of the heads of the north-eastern combes. Starting at the top of the hills - expect rolling climbs and beautiful views as this route climbs up and down the heads of our Quantock combes.

The walk offers seasonal variety and special interest including great examples of classic fluvial features in the early stages of streams.

What to wear/bring:

Please check the weather forecast for the day and come equipped for all that an English winters day can bring. Warm clothing, a hat and sturdy footwear and rain coat/trousers are advised, our walks can sometimes be wet and muddy with mixed terrain. This walk is rated as a 2/5 welly rating (difficulty rating) on our Month of Mud scale. Please also bring a packed lunch or snacks and plenty of water for the duration of the walk (1L recommended).

Dogs:

Dogs are welcome, however, please notify us if you plan on bringing your dog/s. We ask that where there are livestock grazing, and fields, dogs must be on leads. Please observe the Countryside Code, and please respect other dog owners and fellow walkers. We cannot guarantee that every stile is suitable for dogs.
