About the event
Our rangers will guide you on an evening stroll to hopefully try and spot this iconic mammal of the Quantock Hills. They can be elusive but at this time of year the annual deer rut should be in full swing so the male stags are looking to maintain their harem and see off any other challenging males. This makes the herds a little more active and noisy, with the males bellowing to challenge other males and establish their territory.
This walk will be around 2 miles in length and suitable for children who are able to walk this far. No dogs I'm afraid, the deer can smell them a mile off! Wear sturdy walking boots and preferably dark colour clothing. Binoculars are a good idea and maybe a torch as it will begin to get dark at the end of the walk. Children (under 16) free but must be accompanied by a paying adult and booking is essential. There is a FREE ticket option below for children.
