In spring and summer look out for wonderful bird life such as Dartford Warbler, skylark and meadow pipit, listen out for the Cuckoo and at Dusk the churring of the nightjar. In autumn the colours of the heathers and gorse provide a vibrant landscape from which to admire the views across West Somerset and the Bristol Channel.

A Disabled Ramblers Route - Developed by the Disabled Ramblers this route starts at Staple Plain and explores the open heathland of Quantock Common. There are great views across West Somerset to Exmoor and the Bristol Channel and in the spring and summer the hills are a great places to see many species of bird such as the stonechat, skylark and meadow pipit. If you are lucky you may hear a Cuckoo or even a nightjar at dusk.
