Photo Walk: Solstice Warm-Up

Warm-up for the Summer Solstice with this wander through Kingston St Mary as 'Summer is icumen in' (summer has come).

On our Quantock Hills Photo Walks it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a fancy camera or technical expertise, it’s about appreciating your surroundings and finding somewhere in nature that you can immerse yourself. The camera is a fantastic tool to encourage you to slow down and focus your attention, it’s a mindful exercise and can be a very relaxing process. If you don’t have a camera, don’t worry – all are welcome to enjoy the walk in their own way. This is about finding picturesque locations, and not everything needs to be photographed to be appreciated.

We’ll all walk with each other at a relaxed pace, slowing down and observing our surroundings.

Terrain:

The walk will be approximately 6.5km (4 miles) across flatter landscapes, mixed terrain and walking paths so please remember to wear appropriate footwear for walking off road (some of our walks can be wet and muddy), dress comfortably for the weather on the day and remember to bring your own snacks and refreshments, especially a drink if its warm (1 litre is recommended). We’ll send a weather report nearer the time.

Participants are responsible for wearing suitable footwear & clothing for the environment. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and the suitability of any equipment used during the walk.

Any medical conditions that may affect the participants during the walk should be notified to the walk leader prior to the start of the walk.

Dogs:

Dogs are welcome, however, please notify us if you plan on bringing your dog/s. We ask that where there are livestock grazing, and fields, dogs must be on leads. Please observe the Countryside Code, and please respect other dog owners and fellow walkers. We cannot guarantee that every stile is suitable for dogs.
